Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Duinrell – Are there big screens on-site showing major sports events like football internationals or the hurling final?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Yes – there’s a large screen at the end of the on-site bar, and extra screens have been set up in the downstairs pub for big matches. If you’re after a specific fixture, it’s worth asking at the bar directly or checking with them ahead of time, since coverage depends on what’s being shown that...

Duinrell – Are there plenty of plug sockets in the Lodge Tents, and is it worth bringing extension leads or fans?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Plug sockets are generally sufficient, but pack an extension lead or two so you only need a couple of travel adaptors between you – handy for chargers, fans, and anything else you want running at once. Fans are worth bringing for warm nights, especially for a kids’ room.

Duinrell – Are you allowed more than one tent per pitch when camping?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

It’s common to see more than one tent on a pitch as long as everything fits within your allocated zone – there doesn’t seem to be strict enforcement on the number, just on staying within your space.

Duinrell – Can you use the park after you checkout ? What about parking?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

In practice there’s some flexibility around the 10:30 checkout – dropping your key back within the hour afterwards isn’t usually a problem. Duinrell – Comfort vs Premium accommodation – which is worth the extra money?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Duinrell – Do any Duinrell accommodations include a BBQ, and can you buy or hire one on-site?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Most direct-booked accommodation, including premium Duinglows, doesn’t come with a BBQ as standard – though most kitchens do have an induction hob for regular cooking. You’re allowed to bring and use your own BBQ if you’d rather not go without – cheap coal ones or single-use foil tray BBQs are common choices. You can also...

Duinrell – Do they hire tag-along bikes or kid-friendly tandems for less confident young cyclists?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Duinrell – Do you need air conditioning if visiting mid-September?

Duinrell – Do you need cash on-site at Duinrell, or is card enough?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Card covers almost everything – the site is set up for card payments throughout, including the arcade and shops, and buses are tap on/tap off with a card (each person needs their own card, so get kids their own if using something like Revolut Kids). That said, it’s worth carrying a bit of cash: despite...

Duinrell – Does ‘just Premium’ accommodation have air con, or is that only in Premium Plus?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Air con is generally only included from Premium Plus (5-person) and up – standard Premium accommodation typically doesn’t have it, though you may find a thermostat on the wall for central heating. Premium units still tend to have nice touches like a shady patio area, so it’s not a bad option if air con isn’t...

Duinrell – Does anyone know how to put the air con on in the kids’ rooms? We’re staying in a Duingalow but only have air con in the kitchen and main bedroom.

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

The Duingalow doesn’t have a separate air con unit in the kids’ rooms. Run the kitchen/living room unit on full and leave the bedroom doors open so the cool air circulates through – close the curtains when you’re out to keep the heat down. If your accommodation is missing air con or a fan you...

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Yes – hob and oven, plus a microwave and toaster tucked away in a cupboard/press.

Duinrell – Does the accommodation have a TV, and can you get British channels?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

It varies by accommodation – some units have a smart TV that a firestick will work on straight away, while others (even within the same accommodation grade) are older, non-smart sets. Don’t rely on the TV being smart; bring a streaming stick and load it up with what the kids like rather than relying on...

Duinrell – How busy does the park get in late August, and does it quiet down once Dutch schools go back?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Generally manageable even in late August, with queues rarely described as a major problem. It does thin out further once the relevant Dutch region’s school holidays end – regional return dates vary year to year, so it’s worth checking the current school holiday calendar for the area if timing your visit around lighter crowds matters...

Last Updated: July 30, 2026

Refundable bottles and cans can be returned at the Duinrell supermarket. There were two options during our visit. Inside the supermarket: The indoor machine issued a voucher that could be spent in the...

Duinrell – How do you find out your accommodation number, and how do you get there from reception if you don’t have a car?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

You typically find out your accommodation name or number when you check in, not before you travel – there’s usually a sign with your name waiting at reception, and check-in itself tends to be quick with no real queue. If you’re without a car, you make your own way from reception to your accommodation on...

Duinrell – How does Duinrell compare to French or Italian campsites (like Bella Italia)?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

It holds up well as a different kind of holiday rather than a lesser one. The rides and water park are great fun, the village is lovely with good restaurants, the cycle paths are excellent, and the ride to the beach is a real highlight. One difference from some French/Italian sites: pool access here isn’t...

Duinrell – How does Duinrell work for families with autistic or ADHD children, and is the access card accepted? Are there places for them to burn off energy, like football?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Yes, the access card is accepted, and queues in the theme park tend to be short enough that it isn’t a major issue anyway. For burning off energy, go-karts are a big hit, there’s a large sand hill near the tennis courts at the back of the park that kids love running down, and there...

Duinrell – How does recycling work at Duinrell – where do plastic trays, paper and card go?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Recycling on-site is limited – you’ll find bins for glass and machines for cans and plastic bottles, but general plastics like fruit trays and paper/card mostly just go into the large general waste bins rather than being separated out.

Duinrell – How good is the wifi, especially for teenagers with several devices?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

It’s decent rather than exceptional – fine for everyday use and streaming, though there’s typically a cap of around 6 devices logged in at once, which is worth knowing if you’ve got a family full of phones, tablets and laptops.

Duinrell – How much are the bunk beds in a Premium Plus (sleeps 6) able to fit a taller teenager?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

They’re on the smaller side – great for younger children, but a taller teenager (around 5’10”) will only just fit, so it’s worth thinking about who sleeps where if you’ve got older kids in the group.

Duinrell – If arriving with Eurocamp, do you drive straight to the Eurocamp office, or park in the main car park first?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Park in the main car park and walk in to check in at Eurocamp reception rather than trying to drive straight to the Eurocamp office – security doesn’t always let you drive in, and manoeuvring back out through the entrance afterwards can be tricky if you do get through.

Duinrell – If you didn’t order enough bed linen, can you buy more from reception/check-in?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Reception doesn’t usually stock linen since it’s pre-ordered, but there are two shops within a 10-minute walk that sell it. You can also *hire* extra linen from main reception with a 50 euro refundable deposit, at 18 euro per set.

Duinrell – Is bike hire worth it, or is the site walkable without one?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

The site itself is compact and everything is within about a 5-minute walk, so you don’t strictly need a bike to get around – and bikes aren’t allowed in the theme park area anyway. That said, plenty of people hold off for the first couple of days and then end up getting bikes anyway, finding...

Duinrell – Is Duinrell actually clean, and is there a real problem with ants, rats or wasps? Are the staff helpful?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

It’s a forest site, so a few ants and the odd wasp are normal rather than a red flag – nothing worse than that is typical. Cleanliness around the playground and food areas can look a little messy at times, mostly down to litter left by school groups and seagulls going after food scraps, but...

Duinrell – Is Duinrell cashless?

Last Updated: July 30, 2026

The majority of Duinrell shops and restaurants were not completely cashless during our visit. No one declined cash when we tried to pay anywhere in the park , a little different to Center Parcs Payment policies can change, but bringing both a bank card and some cash gives you more flexibility.

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Citronella candles and coils are a good idea generally, not just after dark. If you’re camping on the edge of Lindenveld, mosquitoes aren’t usually a big problem.

Duinrell – Is theft an issue on-site – should you keep a close eye on belongings?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

There have been periodic reports of items going missing – bikes, scooters, gas cylinders and belongings left unattended near rides or pools. It’s sensible to keep valuables and equipment with you or properly secured rather than leaving them unattended for any length of time, especially around busy attractions – the same common-sense precautions you’d take...

Duinrell – Is there a chemist on-site, or where’s the nearest doctor if a child is unwell?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Kruidvat (a Dutch drugstore) is on the main street in town, though it’s worth checking opening hours as it isn’t always open. For anything more urgent, or if you’re not sure where to turn, contact the on-site security cabin – they’re able to help point you toward appropriate medical support.

Duinrell – Is there a list of all Height restrictions for rides?

Last Updated: August 20, 2026

There is now. We’ve compiled these , so always check the Duinrell link ( we’ve given you that too ) to be sure , to be sure! You may also see a situation where one member of staff will allow a child , and another wont. We saw that multiple times – so dont be...

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Worth asking at reception when you check in – it’s not something I’ve confirmed.

Duinrell – Is there EV charging on-site, and how does it work?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Yes – on-site chargers need a chargepass (a card you tap at the charger), but there are also public chargers a short walk away in a car park just across the road (turn left at the gate) that only need a bank card, with free parking while you charge. Tesla fast chargers nearby have also...

Duinrell – Is there still a paper activity schedule available, and is bingo still on?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Yes – you’ll get a paper schedule when you check in, there’s also a board in the plaza showing what’s on, and the same information is duplicated in the Duinrell app.

Duinrell – What are people’s experiences of the 6-person lodge tents? Is bed linen provided or does it need to be ordered separately?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Bed linen for the lodge tents needs to be ordered as an extra rather than being included – factor that into your booking. Premium bungalows elsewhere on-site tend to be central yet quiet, without much noise from neighbouring pitches.

Duinrell – What are the pros and cons of booking through Eurocamp vs directly with Duinrell?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Eurocamp accommodation tends to be smaller and pitched closer together than direct-booked accommodation, which some families find too tight for comfort, though it works well if you just want a simple base. Direct-booked Premium Plus accommodation is generally more spacious, with a covered outdoor dining area and more room to spread out, and comes with...

Duinrell – What happens if you arrive late in the evening (e.g. around 9pm) for Eurocamp check-in?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Let Eurocamp know in advance if your arrival time changes to the evening, since their reception will be closed by then. You’ll do an emergency check-in at the main security office instead, then go back to the Eurocamp office the next morning to complete the formal check-in. Bike hire also won’t be open that late,...

Duinrell – What should you do if you lose something on-site, or find something that isn’t yours?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Hand any found items in to reception, and check there first if something’s gone missing – it’s the official lost property point. Bar staff in the arcade have also acted as a handy secondary drop-off point for things like found bank cards. It’s also worth having a look around the site yourself, since items do...

Duinrell – What size bike should you rent if you’re tall – is it better to wait and choose on-site?

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

Wait and rent on arrival rather than pre-booking sizes – there’s plenty of stock so you won’t be stuck, and you can try before you commit. If you do pre-book, don’t be afraid to swap on-site if the fit isn’t right, and check kids’ bikes have normal brakes rather than reverse-pedal ones.

Last Updated: August 11, 2026

It depends where you’re pitched – some spots get more ants than others, and it can be an issue even in the accommodation itself, not just tents. Bring a small bottle of vinegar-and-water spray as a first line of defence (it works well if you don’t mind the smell), and pick up proper ant powder...

General – Any tips on cycling safety in Dutch towns and cities?

Last Updated: August 20, 2026

Bikes move fast and are genuinely everywhere, so when walking around towns, shopping centres, beaches or cities like The Hague, stick to the right-hand side of paths and cycle lanes as a default. It’s worth talking younger or easily-distracted children through this before heading into busier areas, since it’s not always obvious to visitors.

Rickies Feest is a good bet, and there’s also a darts area in the on-site pub under the food plaza.

Not something visitors have reported noticing on-site, but these caterpillars are a genuine seasonal risk in parts of Europe, mainly in spring, and can cause a nasty reaction in dogs if touched or inhaled. Last Updated: August 10, 2026

The Tiki Pool is exciting, but families with younger children or less confident swimmers should explore the pool area together before using the slides. Shopping – Is it expensive to buy groceries inside Duinrell?

Last Updated: July 30, 2026

The resort shops are handy, but we found many snacks, drinks and everyday items more expensive than those in the nearby supermarket.
